The International Partners involved in this project are Palacký University in the Czech Republic. Our School has been developing links with this University over the last few years and based on previous ties/visits I was invited to be a guest lecturer during their annual International Teaching Week (ITW) in November 2022. This brought together lecturers from around the world to deliver to their Bachelor and Master’s students in the field of sports, physiotherapy, PE and physical activity.

I was able to experience different facilities, innovative teaching practices, ideas for assessment, alongside meeting the members of staff. With the growth in our BSc and MSc Sports Therapy programmes we aim to offer options for a study abroad year alongside short-term mobility summer schools. Having the opportunity to visit will allow us as a School to promote Palacký University as a study abroad option to our students who may be hesitant in considering this as a desirable destination. Conversely, we have already welcomed two students from Palacký University to Lincoln to undertake modules within the MSc Sport Therapy programme which has enabled them to study subjects that are not currently offered on their programme. This has facilitated exchange of ideas between both sets of students and explore the subtle variations in clinical practice based on the content within their curriculum. This is envisaged as a long-term project which will offer travel and learning opportunities for our students.
