Lincoln in UK top 50 in Guardian University Guide 2018

The University of Lincoln has been rated in the UK’s top 50 in the Guardian University Guide 2018, published today.

Lincoln rose nine places to 47th out of 121 universities listed in the national league table, driven by its excellent results for student satisfaction. The University was placed in the top 10 for measures of how highly students rated their course.

Professor Mary Stuart, Vice Chancellor of the University of Lincoln, said: “We are proud to be placed among the UK’s top 50 universities in the latest Guardian University Guide. People across the university work extremely hard to offer our students the best student experience possible, whether that’s the resources and support available at our Library or the quality of teaching in lectures, seminars and workshops. It’s satisfying to see those efforts reflected in prestigious national university guides, and most importantly, to see how that effort is valued here on campus by our students.”

Lincoln’s latest top 50 ranking follows a top 50 position in the Complete University Guide, published in April. The University also rates in the top 10 for student experience and teaching quality in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide (September 2017) and in the postgraduate and international categories of the Whatuni Student Choice Awards.

At subject level, Lincoln’s also rated strongly in the latest Guardian University Guide with its courses in Psychology, Biology, History, Design and Journalism subject areas all placed in the top 25% for those subject areas nationally.

The Guardian University Guide 2018 was published today (Tuesday 16th May 2017) for undergraduates choosing courses for 2018 entry. The guide, produced by Intelligent Metrix, ranks universities according to: spending per student; student/staff ratio; graduate career prospects; entry requirements; a value-added score; and student satisfaction, based on results from the annual National Student Survey (NSS).
