We’re pleased to advise that the ICT department has recently completed an update of the PowerPoint plugin for Poll Everywhere and this has been released to all PCs across campus.
I know that some of you were reporting issues with using the plugin last semester, so this update should resolve these issues going forward.
If you have already installed the Poll Everywhere plugin then you shouldn’t have to do anything, the plugin will update to the new version automatically. Otherwise, if you are not currently using the plugin, please do install it from the software centre. It works on all Windows 7 and Windows 10 PCs.
For further advice on how to use the PowerPoint plugin to integrate your Poll Everywhere questions into lecture slides, please see this helpsheet: https://lncn.ac/pepowerpoint.
Those of you using a Mac device will need to install the plugin in a different way. Please see this helpsheet for guidance: https://www.polleverywhere.com/support/articles/pollev-mac/install.
Can I also take this opportunity to point out some exciting new features that will be introduced later this month from Poll Everywhere:
- Shared activities will now give users the ability to share activities (polls) within their teams. Shared activities can be presented by all users on the team at any time, even simultaneously. This will be particularly useful for large seminar groups who are teaching at the same time and wish to share questions and collate responses in one place.
- A further update to the Poll Everywhere PowerPoint plugin will bring new integration which will let you build and create Poll Questions directly within PowerPoint. Currently, you have to create your questions on the web first and then insert them into PowerPoint.
We are delighted by the continued use of Poll Everywhere by staff in their teaching. Any problems, as always do get in touch with the team by emailing digitaleducation@lincoln.ac.uk.
