Dr Hanya Pielichaty – Senior Lecturer/ Programme Leader/ Digital Lead – Lincoln International Business School – Staff Profile
We are pleased to announce that the Lincoln International Business School’s Digital Student Ambassador Group (DSAG) has been shortlisted for an Innovation in Education Award at the up and coming Lincolnshire Technology and Innovation Awards 2018. The event will take place on the 7th June at Lincolnshire Showground and will showcase all of the ‘digital’ excellence that has taken place over the county this year.
In 2015, Dr Hanya Pielichaty created the Digital Student Ambassador Group after acknowledging a gap in provision for student-led, extra-curricular learning. The aims of the group are as follows: to facilitate and provide opportunities to engage with, develop and implement digital technologies within the teaching, learning and business environment. Secondly, to encourage, develop and nurture the passion and skillset of the DSAG members to advance their own digital capabilities and in-turn guide other students, staff and members of the public to do the same.
The work DSAG coordinates engages students, academics, business colleagues and members of the community. This has been specifically done through the implementation of two Digital Talk Series (2015/16 and 2017/18) hosted by LIBS. The unique selling point for this innovation is the student-focused element of its execution and the collaboration and co-creation of knowledge that has been fostered through student-led workshops and events. Talks and workshops this year have covered topics such as esports, vlogging and blogging, global identities and social media for business.
Across the two Digital Talk Series over 260 people (students, staff, business members and members of the public) have attended events at the University. This case study demonstrates the effectiveness of encouraging student agency to create, provide and present key information to staff, peers and external partners.
