About LALT

Welcome to the Lincoln Academy of Learning and Teaching (LALT) website.

Led by the Dean of Teaching & Learning, LALT is the University’s strategic centre for teaching, learning, and the educational experience of our students. Its purpose is to drive enhancement, engagement, and excellence in education. Serving as a medium for sharing good practice and  exploring new pedagogies, LALT works to develop and deliver university-wide solutions in response to teaching and learning challenges. In this context LALT is at the heart of the University’s Teaching, Learning and Student Experience Strategy (2022-27).

This work is enabled across three core areas of activity – Development and Recognition, Impact & Evaluation and Strategic Programmes – respectively led by experienced academics, project managers and evaluation experts. Work is underpinned by proactive collaboration between key academic and professional service networks, who are essential leads to champion and develop teaching and learning at Lincoln. This expertise also steers enquiry of new approaches to pedagogical activities, measuring impact through evaluation measures, and embedding best practice to enhance student experiences.

Core activities are determined by a mix of external, sector and strategic factors, alongside evolving key internal teaching & learning agendas. While strategic elements such as TEF, APP and NSS are central to the whole university, these inform and align with activities and projects linking academic and professional service networks and collaborative forums, enabling dissemination of new and best practice contributing to the University’s teaching and learning excellence ambitions.
