Panopto: Lecture Capture and Editing
September 7, 10:30 am - 12:00 pm
Description: There are many identified student benefits for recording lectures including inclusivity (accessibility or where English is a second language), transition support, revision and supplementary learning support. As such, lecture recording is very useful for students and the University would like to work with staff to encourage its adoption more widely. This session will guide attendees through the hardware and software of the University’s lecture recording system; Panopto. This session is part of Digital Education Training Week.
Aim: This session will guide attendees through the hardware in lecture theatres that enable video and audio recording, the Panopto software that allows the recording to talk place, and the use of recorded teaching sessions in Blackboard.
Learning Outcomes: In this session attendees will explore hardware for recording video and audio in lecture theatres, learn how to record teaching sessions using two versions of Panopto (Full and Desktop), and learn how and where these recordings can be placed within Blackboard.
