Digital Leads Development Programme

The Digital Leads Programme seeks to review both the support offering and developmental opportunities provided for Digital Leads. One of the key aims is to understand the level of support the Digital Leads and their colleges require. The support and development provision will take place through a consultative forum based discussions with the Digital Leads, Programme Leaders and Heads of Schools.

Project update

  • February 2020
    Next forum takes place in April, the project has now moved into business as usual, supported and co-ordinated by Digital Education.
  • December 2019
    Digital Leads Forum received presentations around the Talis Elevate digital platform and making digital content accessible.
  • October 2019
    We have now started our new round of digital leads action plans, the new role descriptors have been given to the HOS so they can be involved with developing plans going forward.
  • June 2019
    We have had two change over of roles for the Digital Leads and we now have a representative for the school of psychology. We are currently evaluating the effectiveness of the action planning process and developing new training sessions for the academics involved in the Digital Leads Programme.

    We currently have 13 action plans in place from the Digital leads. Some of the Digital Leads have collaborated on a single plan to support development of digital literacies in their college/school.
  • September 2018
    The action planning process has now begun. This will help identify key changes in each College/School to support development of digital literacies and their uses in education.
  • May 2018
    The first Digital Leads forum was held to provide a support and community based approach to sharing practice.
  • March 2018
    Digital Leads had the opportunity to complete the Digital Leaders Programme (delivered by Jisc), this was delivered across 4 half day workshops which started in 2017. Following this Digital Leads forums will be set up to share practice and experiences.
  • July 2019
    The Digital Leads are currently completing their evaluations of their action plans. This will be written up into a report to feedback for the DETP to see the impact that the programme has had. We are also, currently, gathering feedback on how useful the forums are and how we can improve them.
